Constantly growing traffic volumes and increasing urbanisation make high demands on infrastructure and transport planners. To pass underneath obstacles or to relocate parts of the traffic under ground, road tunnels are an integral part of today’s transport infrastructure.
In order to reach a high safety standard and to weave the complex system of a road tunnel into the road network, we need to make use of state-of-the-art technologies.
For some time now public-private-partnerships have been offering new possibilities for financing the construction and operation as well as for splitting responsibilities. |
